The story: Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty
Akshay Kumar is a top defense agent who arrives in Mumbai on a holiday. His parents wants him to get married to Sonakshi Sinha. However, assuming Sonakshi to be a cute-homely girl and considering the risky nature of the work, he rejects her but later he finds out Sonakshi is actually a boxer with a go-get-it attitude. And later he falls for her. While this goes on, a bus blast takes place which leads Akshay to a terrorist group and he finds out that more such blasts are planned across the city. What occurs next forms the real story.
Even though, Akshay Kumar’s previous films didn’t do well, he is at his best in Holiday. This is the first time that Akshay has silenced his frolics and went in to the crust of the character in Holiday. The director has taken special care to ensure that Akshay’s own star image does not override the character. Akshay-Sonakashi romance scenes are well received by the audience. The scenes in which Akshay’s senior comes in between Akshay-Sonakashi love, brings about non-stop laughter. Akshay had done some good dances too. Sonakashi looked gorgeous on screen and in fact, Sonakashi has done an even better job than Akshay in the comedy scenes.
Govinda had done a good show as baddie. He had improved more than his previous movie. Rest of them had managed decent acts.
The story of Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is not any new or inventive but it was brightly narrated. The real hero of the movie in fact is the racy screenplay by A.R.Murugadoss. The way the main story is packed together and the placement of the song and action sequences in simply superb. Cinematographer, Natarajan had weaved his magic once again. The hero and the visuals really looked rocking and trendy.
The movie was very well comprehended by Murugudoss. The pre interval block, Combat between Akshay & the villain of the movie in ship, the Capture scene and the climax block are very exciting. Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is third movie of Akshay and Sonakshi and their pairing looks eye-catching and their chemistry is getting stronger by every move they do together.
I loved Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and hope audience will like it to.
